Role-play on booking a hotel:

Helen   “Hi Emily.”

Emily

“Hi Helen, do you feel like going shopping today?”

Helen “Yes, that would be great! Do you want to go to the second-hand store on Hollywood Boulevard?”

Emily “No, I was actually thinking about going to the mall. Close by, there are also a couple of discount stores and the Gap outlet.”

Helen “There's a Gap outlet! Sounds great, let's go there! I hear they have good bargains.”

Emily “The Gap outlet always has good bargains, especially now that everything is on clearance.”

Helen

“Let's go then, I always like a good deal!”

Sales Clerk

“Welcome to the Gap outlet, are you looking for something specific?”

Helen “Yes, actually I'm looking for a winter jacket.”

Sales clerk “We have some nice leather jackets back here.”

Helen

“They're nice!”

Sales clerk “Yes and they're on sale at $75!”

Helen It's a steal!”

Sales cleark “Yes it is. The only thing is that they have a small defect. The right sleeve is slightly longer than the left. But as you can see, you can barely tell.”

Helen

“That's true. I can't even see it!"

Sales clerk “What size would you like to try?”

Helen “The medium.”

Sales clerk “In black, grey or brown?”

Helen

“I'll go with the brown, thank you.”

Emily
“Helen, this jacket looks great on you! And at that price you should definitely buy it.”

Helen “You're right, I think I will. Mam, what is your exchange policy?”

Sales clerk “Well, as long as you have your receipt you can do an exchange or get a full refund within 2 weeks.”

Helen “Great, I'll get it!”
